면역결핍 마우스는 선천적인 유전자 돌연변이나 인위적인 방법으로 면역체계에서 하나 이상의 면역세포(B세포, T세포, NK세포 등)에 결함이나 결손이 있는 마우스 모델을 말합니다. 유전자 편집 기술이 발달하면서 새로 개발된 면역 결함 마우스의 strains는 지속적으로 증가하고 있습니다. 면역 결핍 마우스 모델은 종양학(종양 성장, 전이, 항종양 약물 스크리닝 등), 면역학(면역 세포 발달 및 증식 메커니즘, 면역 질환 발생 메커니즘 등), 역학(바이러스/세균 감염성 질환 발병 기전), 줄기세포 생물학(인간 줄기세포 이식) 등 연구 분야에서 널리 사용됩니다. 이 중 중증 면역결핍 마우스(T Cell, B Cell 및 NK 면역 세포 결핍) 모델에는 인간 조혈모세포(HSCs), 인간 말초 혈액 단핵세포(PBMCs), 인간 종양 세포주 유래 이종 이식(CDX), 환자 종양 조직 유래 이종 이식(PDX) 또는 기타 성체줄기세포(Adult stem cells) 및 조직을 효율적으로 이식할 수 있으며, 인간화 마우스 모델 구축에 널리 사용됩니다.
