Scientists, Molecular Cloning - Transgenic/Gene Targeting/Genome Editing Mice

We are seeking two experienced and highly motivated Scientists to join a group with responsibilities that include molecular design, cloning and vector construction, molecular characterization of gene targeted ES cells and animals for custom generation of genetically engineered (transgenic/gene targeted) mouse/rat models. The group is located in Taicang (Suzhou County, very close to Shanghai).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a key member of the molecular biology team that will plan, manage and execute molecular biology activities related to custom generation of genetically engineered mouse/rat models.
  • Design transgenic/ES cell gene targeting/CRISPR genome editing strategies to meet clients' research needs.
  • Perform molecular cloning with advanced DNA cloning technologies (In-Fusion, BAC-recombineering etc.).
  • Work closely with cell biology team and microinjection team in targeted ES cell characterization and animal genotyping.
  • Lead the troubleshooting activities.
  • Improve components of current processes, and develop more efficient methods to support transgenic/gene targeted vector construction.
  • Prepare milestone reports, projects descriptions and updates for internal and external customers and partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D and postdoc training in molecular biology or biochemistry.
  • Five to ten years of experience in molecular/cell biology and/or transgenic/gene targeted mouse/rat model generation research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in state of the art technologies employed for recombinant DNA manipulation including but not limited to cloning, site-directed mutatgenesis and codon optimization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a productive team and being a technical expert in guiding research associates in the group.
  • Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English (oral and written).
  • Strong interest in technology development.
  • Capable of working in a team-based environment spanning multiple disciplines and collaborating with scientists and associates in a fast-paced, energetic environment.

Territory Manager

Cyagen seeks a Territory Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region. This is a home-based, remote position requiring 50-75% travel.

Job Description:

The Territory Manager is responsible for calling on potential and existing clients in academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and contract research organizations within the territory, and meeting or exceeding the territory sales plan.

Duties:

The Territory Manager must become proficient in understanding Cyagen’s services and products (custom animal models, DNA vectors, and other cell and molecular biology products and services). Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide customer service, quotes, and consultations to prospective and existing customers.
  • Facilitate decision-maker level meetings with Sales Director or Technical/Scientific Staff.
  • Identify and qualify new leads through proactive site visits, walking halls, and outbound phone and email communications with potential clients.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals by actively generating new leads, consistently following up with prospects, asking for business, and working with both sales leadership and technical departments to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all clients within the territory.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in biology.
  • Previous experience with animal models, virus packaging, &/or DNA cloning is desired.
  • Ability to work independently under little supervision.
  • Team player with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications. 
  • Desire to learn.
  • Sales experience preferred.

Sales & Technical Support Associate

Job Description:

To perform a variety of business development and support functions including the following activities: 

  • Actively driving revenue by engaging in planned direct sales and service activities, including processing new sales leads, answering phone calls and handing customer issues and technical inquiries.
  • Qualifying and nurturing sales leads which include contacting potential and existing customers to define and clarify the specific details of the sales opportunity and capturing and maintaining customer data.
  • Assigning qualified opportunities to Field Sales Representatives with applicable information captured during qualifying calls. Assisting Field Sales Representatives with urgent administrative duties.
  • Performing outbound calling to (1) achieve timely follow-up and thorough qualification of sales leads (2) develop sales opportunities within an existing customer base.
  • Contributing to and supporting territory plans in conjunction with the Field Sales Representatives.
  • Identifying high-value accounts and effectively contacting them to generate leads.
  • Following up with customers regarding sales and service campaigns.
  • Attending regional vendor shows and exhibits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in biology required (minimum BA/BS; graduate degree preferred).
  • Overall knowledge of genetically modified animal models, molecular biology and cloning.
  • Laboratory experience with genetically modified animal models and/or vector cloning preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.

This is a full-time, salaried (non-commission), benefits-eligible position. Compensation is based on background and experience.
